By now you probably read SWA’s Flight Ops update about 3rd party apps going away. 

In 2010, Mark Ackerman built CrewWeb so we could access CWA on our mobile devices.  In 2012, Bobby Stokes built CrewBuddy as a trip companion. Back then there was a desperate need for CrewBuddy & CrewWeb and SWA wasn’t ready to provide it… so we did.

Fast forward to 2022.  SWA has invested in copying the apps that we the crew members needed and created.  Even if you don’t like the copies, it really is SWA’s responsibility to provide these apps to you.

On Aug 17th 2022, SWA will implement Artificial Intelligence that will stop CrewBuddy, CrewWeb and any other apps from accessing CWA.  Even if we were to keep up and beat the AI, SWA will not allow us to handle the data without becoming an approved vendor.  The requirements to do so are cost and resource prohibitive.

As sad as it is for me, and I’m sure you, CrewBuddy and CrewWeb have come to an end.  These apps will not be usable past 8/17/2022.  I have canceled all subscriptions to CrewBuddy although you will retain access for free until then.  The latest update to CrewBuddy will allow you to export your hotel and crew notes.
