The only drawback is that your new iPads block most internet communication except for SWA stuff while on cellular.  So, you can have CrewBuddy sync with CWA and look at gates, but for all the other features that require internet (including honoring your subscription), you'll need to connect to WiFi (not aircraft Wifi).
